When you’re done with this list of ten ideas, please review Part 1 (#1–10) and Part 2 (#11–20) if you haven’t read them all ready. The 50 items spread across this five-part series are all things I have tested myself and/or have seen more than one person use effectively time and again to maintain and cultivate the kind of relationships that bring both personal satisfaction and sustainable business. Begin using them today for your author business, putting into place the seeds of your own ongoing and long-term success.

  1. Volunteer information about yourself to open up conversations and let people know you better. Talking about yourself is not always about hogging the attention and making it all about you. It’s sometimes about pulling your chit-chat weight and sharing. Offer up information about your book/s, the writing process, your challenges, your triumphs, your website, and your next events.
  2. Embrace the concept of slow business, which puts people, relationships, customer service, and time for little niceties front and center. People who make time to read books just might be the same people who make time for (and appreciate) slow/slower
