Hi Nedland, Thanks for reading and writing. My economics knowledge is modest but I have been a keen observer of our economy, society, and politics for a few decades, and I am intrigued by UBI after reading a lot about it the last few years. More than my personal thoughts, this article was my attempt to convey the highlights from Scott Santens's new book, and I did not wade into all the weedy details he does in his argument. I like that UBI advocates have looked around at the declining condition of our economy and society, looked down the road with a big-picture vision, and proposed something simple enough, bold enough, humanistic, and nonpartisan. Do you have a preferred idea for a future with disappearing jobs, especially secure, decent paying jobs?
