Do 5 Things a Day Is the Grinding of Authorship. It’s Doing the Reps.

Grinding in video games is an act of endurance and discipline — repeatedly performing boring, repetitive tasks to gain in-game rewards like experience points, currency, or stats upgrades.

Grinding is the doing the reps of working out. Commitment. Discipline. Repetitive. Boring. And somewhere, sometime, eventually…seeing, enjoying, and then, maintaining, the muscular results.

Doing 5 things a day, every day, to promote your books, your expertise, your authorship, and/or your author business is the grinding and doing the reps of author success.

It requires commitment.

It requires discipline.

It requires just doing it.

It might be repetitive in that you should be doing it every day, but here’s the good thing about 5 things a day…

It doesn’t have to be — shouldn’t be — the same thing every day.

It doesn’t have to be boring. You can do what you like (especially if it’s working for you and getting desirable results).

You can mix it up…just for fun, just to experiment, just because you’re in business for yourself and that freedom is yours.

So, accept the grind.
